Getting to campus
Security/access control: no access to campus or buildings without your student card!
The campus is open Monday to Friday from 6:00 am to 10:00 pm, and Saturdays from 6:00 am to 1:00 pm. You must use your student card to open the gate. Campus buildings open at 6:00 am on weekdays and close at 8:00 pm all year round, except during the summer, Christmas and public vacations when the campus is closed.
Pedestrians can access the campus via the gate at 40, montée Saint Barthelemy or the door at 9 montée Nicolas de Lange (access via Fourvière) using their student card or the access code issued each month. Opening times may be subject to change when the school is closed.
Public transport in Lyon (TCL)
The TCL public transport network operates Lyon’s bus, tramway and subway lines. A standard ticket costs €2.10 and is valid for unlimited travel within one hour. Students under 25 can buy a discounted set of 10 tickets known as the “Carnet de 10 billets – étudiants et scolaires“. They may also purchase a monthly unlimited pass for €25.
You can also purchase TCL cards, which can be used to store individual tickets as well as monthly passes.
Lyon’s public transport system operates from 5:00 a.m. to midnight, depending on the line. It is open every day of the year except the 1st of May.
TCL runs night buses every hour on Thursday, Friday and Saturday evenings from 1:00 to 4:00 a.m.
The easiest way to get to campus
> By bus: take line C3, get off at the Gare Saint Paul terminal, then walk up Montée Saint Barthélemy to ECAM LaSalle.
> By subway: take line D, get off at the Vieux-Lyon/Cathédrale Saint Jean stop, then reach the ECAM LaSalle campus on foot via Montée des Chazeaux stairway. The upper part of the campus can also be reached directly by taking the Funicular from the Vieux-Lyon/ Cathédrale Saint Jean stop to the Fourvière stop.

FreeVélo’v: Freevélo’v is a service offered by the Metropole de Lyon, managed by Vélogik, for young people to rent a bike free of charge for 3 to 12 months on a renewable basis. Not only free, but also environmentally friendly! Who’s eligible? You must be under 26 years of age, living in one of the 59 towns in the Lyon metropolitan area, and you must be either a student or enrolled in a social or occupational integration program. Simply register online and pick up your bike!

Self-service electric scooters
Taxis: Lyon has both taxis and private-driver apps (Uber, Kapten). Lyon’s two main taxi companies both offer phone apps and websites for bookings.
Rhônexpress : Rhônexpress provides transport to and from the airport, departing from Gare de la Part-Dieu train station.
Intercity transport
Lyon is at the heart of Europe, making travel quick and affordable.

Ride-sharing: the BlaBlaCar (blablacar.fr) and idVroom (idvroom.com) ride-sharing services allow you to book a seat in the car of a driver going to the same destination or in the same direction as you are.
Bus: in France, buses are generally the cheapest way to get from one city to another, and travellers can reach many international destinations from Lyon.
