Being a Class Representative
Class representatives act as spokespersons for their class and represent their peers in matters related to academic and student life at ECAM LaSalle. In this role:
- They are the main point of contact for the school’s management, academic departments, teaching staff, and student life services.
- They contribute to effective communication and exchange of information between students and the school.
- They help to foster a constructive, dynamic atmosphere within their class, promote mutual support among students, and strengthen group cohesion.
- They play an active role in the continuous improvement of training programs and campus life.
The role of class representatives helps to establish constructive dialogue and collaboration with ECAM LaSalle teaching staff and representatives.
Their responsibilities:
- They maintain regular communication with their entire graduating class.
- They are responsible for initiating dialogue with the relevant contacts whenever necessary, based on any issues or problems that arise.
- They attend meetings of the Student Life commission and the academic boards for their programme.
- They play an active role in evaluating and assessing semester courses.
- They play an active role in improving student life on campus.
- They represent the class whenever circumstances require, including at special events, meetings, audits, disciplinary boards, etc.
- They regularly report to their graduating class on their activities as a representative.
- They attend the AEI (Association of Student Engineers) general assembly to represent their class in that forum.
The role of class representative is recognised and rewarded in two ways:
- 2 ECTS credits awarded at the end of their studies
- A special mention included in their diploma supplement

Student Life Commission
This commission brings together all key figures involved in student life on campus (AEI, club and association presidents), class representatives from all cohorts on campus, the campus director of ECAM LaSalle Lyon, the operational director, the international office, the communications team, and any other individuals required based on the agenda.
This commission focuses on matters not related to academic programmes.
It addresses issues concerning daily life on campus and broader student life topics.
Commission meetings are held every two months.
Academic Affairs Commission
This commission includes programme heads, teaching staff, and class representatives. It discusses matters related to courses and academic content.
This commission meets once per semester.
It is your responsibility to share any information or concerns you wish to raise with these bodies, with the support of your class representatives.
