A welcoming place

The ECAM Student Lounge is affiliated with the Engineering Students’ Association (AEI – Association des Elèves Ingénieurs) and located at the heart of the ECAM LaSalle campus, offering a breathtaking view of Lyon. The lounge is a welcoming space for students of all programmes and years—from first to fifth year—to meet and socialise throughout the day.

The student-run bar is open three evenings per week, on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Fridays from 5:30 pm to 8 pm. During these times, the lounge comes alive with activities organised by the lounge team and various school clubs.

As well, a wide range of games is available, including billiards, table tennis and table football.

To access the ECAM LaSalle Student Lounge, you MUST have your ECAM ID card. No ID, no drinks!

Legal guidelines for serving beverages on higher education campuses

To ensure everyone’s safety and comply with current legislation, the following rules must be strictly observed during student events:

Alcohol & beverage sales

  • Selling or serving alcohol within or around the school premises, even temporarily (bars, stalls, etc.), is prohibited.
  • Associations can organise off-campus events serving alcohol. However:
    • They must obtain authorisation from the town hall (limited to 5 events per year)
    • Only beverages from groups 1 and 3 (beer, wine, cider, etc.) may be sold without a specific licence.
  • “Private circles” (reserved exclusively for members) can serve these beverages without authorisation, as long as the event remains internal.

Important Restrictions

  • Selling or offering alcohol to minors is strictly forbidden and severely penalised.
  • Serving alcohol to visibly intoxicated persons is prohibited. Organisers may face criminal liability in the event of an accident.
  • “Open bars” and “all-you-can-drink’ packages are forbidden by law.
  • Objects promoting excessive alcohol consumption are also prohibited, especially for minors.

Noise & Amplified Sound

Events with music or sound amplification must:

  • Limit sound levels (maximum of 102 dB over 15 minutes)
  • Inform attendees about risks to hearing
  • Provide ear protection and quiet areas
  • Respect the peace and quiet of the neighbourhood, even for outdoor events.

Organising student events means accepting responsibility.
Following these rules ensures events are safe, legal, and respectful to everyone.
