All about the school
ECAM LaSalle is one of the 205 French Grandes Ecoles accredited to award an engineering degree. It is part of the University of Lyon network and a member of the worldwide LaSalle network (find out more). Founded in 1900 under the name École Catholique d’Arts et Métiers (‘Catholic School of Engineering’), the school contributes to making the world more humane and socially responsible through education, science and technology. The school moved to Lyon in 1946 and since 2021 has been known as ECAM LaSalle.
Its three main missions are:
- Training multidisciplinary engineers who are pragmatic, socially responsible and open to the world
- Supporting students in building their individual academic projects
- Creating new knowledge and driving innovation for industry.

The school is managed by the ECAM LaSalle Foundation, which has the status of a French Fondation Reconnue d’Utilité Publique (‘State-Recognized Public Interest Organization’). It is organised around teaching and research departments, administrative departments and several academic programmes.
